Giving back
Dr. Mennemeyer and staff love to be involved and give back to the community. From educating elementary students about healthy dental hygiene care to food drive collections, and cheering on their patients in athletic events, the Mennemeyer Orthodontics team is dedicated to making a positive impact in their community. Below are just a few of the many community involvement events the Mennemeyer Orthodontics team participates in.
Buddy bags
At Mennemeyer Orthodontics, we support Lincoln County R-III’s Buddy Bag Program year-round. We accept donations right in our office! “This program provides weekly supplemental food for approximately 400 of our prekindergarten-12th grade students across the [Lincoln County R-III] district. Each week, students pack the bags at various campuses prior to distribution on Friday. This collective effort has involved administrators, parents, community members and students. This endeavor has not only been beneficial to our students who receive the food, it has been beneficial for our entire school community as we work together to help others.” Click here to learn more!
Supporting youth livestock exhibitors at county fairs
Each summer, Dr. Mennemeyer and staff visit the Lincoln County & St. Charles County Fair to support their FFA and 4-H patients. The Mennemeyer Orthodontics team cheers on their patients showing hogs, steers, lambs, chickens, and rabbits.
Halloween candy buyback: Operation Gratitude
After Halloween, Mennemeyer Orthodontics hosts a “Halloween candy buyback” to benefit Operation Gratitude and soldiers overseas. Patients and community members bring in their individually wrapped candies in return to receive $1 per pound. In 2016, Mennemeyer Orthodontics collected hundreds of pounds of candies and shipped over 15 boxes of candies to soldiers overseas.
